World History Journal
It looks pretty good. Be sure you have the title page first and then you are also missing your references at the end.

World History JournalMichael Hough, Alex Johnston, Chris Olson

Hello my name is Michael and my son and I are living in Mesopotamia. Soon I hope he can become somewhat dependent and be a cook just like his father. I am glad he was able to be raised in the middle class part of town; it was worth all the work of those long days before his mother died. After his mother died I was very happy I was a cook because I knew how to make the best food in town, including our favorite, pita bread pizza. My son, Bonobo, and I love to take fishing trips along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
The King has sent us on this journey for many reasons; one was that he was looking for his second wife, after his first one was beheaded by their servant. Secondly, he has sent Chris (our friend), Bonobo, and I to go seek a good general for his army. Lastly, he wanted a new pet, preferably a donkey, but he would accept many different animals. We value the agricultural farming in our civilization because it brings us great wealth. It provides cooking material for me. It also provides food to the civilization. I think that we need to change the balance of power in our civilization. I think that the religious leaders should have higher authority. The servants should be treated with more respect because they are human beings just like us and for all the work that they do. The kings’ rule should not be hereditary; instead there should be an election. Well, that is my opinion but we do not have any input in the system.

DAY 1
We took off on our journey to a civilization named Egypt; it is located west of Mesopotamia. This civilization is very different from our own. As we write in Sumerian, they wrote in Hieroglyphics. The Egyptians seem to be extremely focused around the afterlife. They believe that you will have a better afterlife so therefore they are buried with a lot of their belongings from their past life. In Egypt they have rulers called "pharaohs." They are believed to be a king as well as a god. Their social structure is basically the same as ours, based off of a hierarchy system.
Egyptian language is similar to ours and is based off of Sumerian Writing. They also believe in Gods although they are different (Newenham 2007). The Pharaoh is in charge of the warfare like Mesopotamia. The social structure is similar in Egypt. Their current Pharaoh is Tutankhamen. He is very powerful, similar to their high priest. In Egypt, the society is based mainly off of farmers. Artists and craftsman were also a decent part of the social structure. The higher classes demonstrated their wealth with art and literature.
Egyptians are also very superstitious. They are not afraid of attacks from nearby civilizations. Yet, they are afraid of food scarcity such as the Nile running out of fish. They have their major resource, the Nile River, where they get water for irrigation, fish, transportation, etc. They have major agriculture in their society to provide food and money from selling of plants. Also, they had papyrus to create paper.
If Egypt wanted to conquer Mesopotamia, I believe that they wouldn't be able to do so. Our military is more powerful and Mesopotamia has walls surrounding the city. Mesopotamia has strong soldiers in general. Mesopotamia would probably fight back. Also, they would try to kill the Pharaoh if he was in the fight. We were expecting a formal greeting even though we came unannounced.
The Egyptians greeted us informally, yet they did offer us food, water, and shelter. They look like common everyday people, wearing draped cloth with sashes. The Pharaoh was easily distinguished because he was dressed in royal colors and had a goatee, while the average citizen was wearing bland colors and was covered in filth. The Egyptians seemed to be skinnier and taller than Mesopotamians. They ate fish, crops, and they traded with other civilizations for different herbs and animals uncommon to the area.
DAY 2
I have noticed on my journey to Hebrew lands is that our languages are kind of alike. I have noticed that they also believe in a god. They have a king too, like back home but their king is named Soliz. Their social structure is pretty much the same, three main social statuses; the upper, middle, and lower class just like back at home. Today what I have noticed different between the Hebrew lands and back home is that they speak in a language different to ours.
Their religion is very different they worship one god for everything. The laws are different here than the laws of Hammurabi at home in Mesopotamia (Brians, 1998). Also they were mostly a nomadic people. The social culture is almost the same from what I have noticed. The main ruler here is King Soliz, he and the priests are in charge. Just like back in Mesopotamia the more money you had the higher class you are. The lowest social classes were the slaves that built the pyramids; the next step up was peasants then farmers etc...
The priests played a big role in their societies because they are pretty much the only people who can read. The Hebrews seemed to fear attacks from other civilization because their army is very weak. The Hebrews also feared being taken as slaves by other civilizations and running out of resources. The Hebrews main resources were crops including; grapes, lentils, goat cheese, and olives (Wikijunior, 2010). Also the Hebrews meat was rare and for special occasions, but fish was more common. The Hebrews main drink is wine.
The Hebrews military is pretty weak and not well organized. If they wanted to attack Mesopotamia they almost undoubtedly would not able too. Mesopotamia's' walls would be too much for the Hebrews along with our army. Our well developed well commanded army would just be overwhelming for the Hebrews. The Hebrews were very helpful, as I expected, by offering food, water and shelter. Unlike the Egyptians, the Hebrew's actually greeted me somewhat formally. They also introduced me to their high priest.
Men and women both wore similar clothing, which was a tunic with a girdle, a robe over it and a mantle and a headdress. Depending on gender, the garments varied in pattern and style. Women's would also be longer. I was very surprised because that is much different than what us Mesopotamians wear. The Hebrews ate many crops, which was their main source of food. The Hebrews also ate fish and meat, but eating steak was very rare. Also all the food had to be kosher, meaning the fish had to have scales and fins and the animals for meat had to have split hooves and chew their cud.

DAY 3
Finally this long journey is over but we still need to make the long journey back home. Over the course of our journey I have found that our civilization is a lot stronger than many others that are near our own. I have also noticed that our civilization is different than the others including; religion, social structure, government, inhabitants, and food sources. Here are some maps of our surrounding area.
