(My name is yung wi chin and this’s the story of my journey along with my two sisters shi pai chin and minh shai chin. Most of our culture’s children often lived not just with their parents, but also with their grandparents, their aunts and uncles, and their cousins. We were the exceptions since our family wasn’t very fortunate. With no grandparents and our father dying in protection of our household, when our mother died we were orphans. )
(As triplets being orphaned while all at the age of 18, we found ourselves looking for a job. We all worked for the same master on the eastern bank of the yang-tse river where there are fertile farming lands. The girls found themselves as house slaves to the rich master. Most ancient Chinese people were avid field workers just as I. The master gives us our healthy servings of our favorite dish and we love it! We can’t wait for our delectable bowl of rice topped with soy beans cucumbers and oranges! It’s so delicious! We were living the good life but one day we decided to see what else is out there and therefore after elaborate planning we gathered supplies and took a journey.)
(We decided to take supplies from our favorite hobby, we love painting characters in our language to communicate with each other. We also brought the thing that we value most in our household. We value our Buddha statue that shi pai chin brought along with us. It represents our religion and also since we do not have a shrine to our ancestors, which was custom for the Buddhist religion, it helps us remember them because we believe when they die they look over our family.)
The day we arrived at a strange area called the Indus river valley, we found ourselves near what seemed to be a very developed town called Harappa. The city from outside was a glorious master piece! These people really know how to decorate! We noticed the high brick walls around the city and began to wonder if we were welcome there. Luckily, our nation had not been in a confrontation with these western Asians. We noticed the natives speaking a very strange language to us that only shai pai chin could speak as we got closer to the city (shouldn't have given her the map...). We our about to enter the city but we considered it good to send you this letter and let you know where we were and how we were doing. From the triplets, 9/5/2300 B.C.E.)
Hello again master, we have walked into the city and we noticed some very interesting things about this culture and we were told what the language was in the area that they all spoke “Harappan” and shared the religion of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam. Did you know that Buddhism our main religion began from them?? They must’ve been way before us because without them we wouldn’t have any religion!
